Your Words as An Offering to God
Choosing to publish precious personal words is not an easy decision for some writers. Knowing those words are penned for the glory of God with hopes of helping others can stop the flow before ink hits paper — or fingers tap keys. For me, “what if I” questions taunt my progress.
What if I publish a typo?
What if I publish a misinterpretation of God’s Word?
What if I publish words that turn people AWAY from God?
I think now is a great time to say I can offer help to keep paper bags at bay — hyperventilation crushes creativity!

One Person’s Hope May Depend on Your Investment of Kindness
Some of my most intimate friendships formed while attending conferences for writers. In fact, if not for the selfless investment of kindness from a new friend, my first conference experience may have been my last.
Hundreds of attendees gathered in a sprawling room for networking, book signings and reuniting with friends. The energy in that space fueled my desire to achieve my goal — to finally be a real writer.

The pastor’s voice was soft yet confident as he read. My fingertip slid across the page of my Bible, hungry for each word until a misunderstanding soured my craving.
“[G]ive thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV)
He paused. Silence worked its way through our gathering until every eye looked to him. The pastor smiled. “Y’all might be thinking to yourselves, How can I give thanks for everything — even the bad stuff in my life?” That question echoed through my thoughts. How would he reply?

How to Write for the Glory of God
Do you ever feel insignificant in your ministry as a writer? I did. I felt minuscule; like one grain of sand in a shoreline brimming with others compelled to impact our world through words. Feelings of insignificance can only take root in the garden of comparison.
What do you see when you scan the horizon of writing for the glory of God? I saw too much competition and too little opportunity for my voice to be heard. But that was before God illuminated the need to shift my perspective; He used His Word to reveal the truth about my place in this world.
